VSDCA: Mt Waverley recruits hope to continue top one-day form

MOUNT Waverley captain Dhugal Bedingfield is looking forward to seeing his new recruits in action in the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association this Saturday.

Bedingfield and his side face an improved Noble Park at Pat Wright Senior Oval in a one-day match after play was washed out last Saturday.

While Mt Waverley will be without established players Andrew Northridge and James Jensen, they will hand debuts to Alex Deuchar, Milan Fernando and Shamil Samarasinghe.

‘‘They all look good players, fingers crossed we can get them out on the field this Saturday,’’ he said.

Bedingfield said his side wanted to continue its exceptional one-day form from last season when they went undefeated.

‘‘We won every one of our one-day games last season so judging from that it might help us to start the season this way,’’ he said.

Bedingfield is also keen to see Noble Park in action as it still has star players Rizan Mawzoon and Marasinghe Perera.

‘‘Those two are their key players and we have to limit their damage if we want to win, ’’ he said.

Mt Waverley play Noble Park at Pat Wright Senior Oval, Noble Park on Saturday starting at 12.30pm.
