A MAN has died after being hit by a train in Clayton this afternoon.
Police believe the man, who was in 20s, was hit by a city-bond train while crossing the tracks about 500 metres west of the Clayton railway station.
Trains on the Dandenong and Pakenham lines have been suspended and heavy delays are expected.
Bus services have been ordered for commuters.
There are also delays on Clayton Road.
Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
