Monash employers cough up $45,000

The Fair Work Ombudsman has ordered employers in Notting Hill and Clayton to back-pay more than $45,000 to workers in Monash after an investigation found they had been underpaid.

In Clayton, $39,900 was recovered for 21 retail workers who had been underpaid their minimum hourly wage and penalty rates. In Notting Hill, a technician was underpaid $6500 in penalty rates.

Fair Work Ombudsman Nicholas Wilson said: "These Melbourne businesses have now corrected the errors that led to the underpayments and put processes in place to ensure they will not happen again."
