THE best teams in Australian basketball will play in south-east Melbourne later this month.
Basketball Australia last week announced both the National Basketball League and Women's National Basketball League would play their preseason tournaments at Dandenong Basketball Stadium from September 20-23. China's national women's development side, known as China B, will also play in the WNBL tournament.
BA officials are touting the event as the first time the two leagues have combined their preseason tournaments at the one location with Olympians such as Lauren Jackson (Canberra Capitals), Jenna O'Hea (Dandenong Rangers) and Peter Crawford (Townsville Crocs) all likely to play. The NBL tournament begins on September 20 with games each night up until September 22.
The WNBL tournament begins a night later on September 21 each night until September 23.
