POLICE from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal car crash at Clayton yesterday afternoon.
It is believed a white Holden Barina sedan, travelling along Bettina Street, veered off the road and hit a tree near the Blackburn Road intersection just before 5pm.
A male passenger, believed to be in his 60s, was seated in the rear of the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries.
The driver, believed to be in his 30s, and a female passenger believed to be in her 60s, suffered minor injuries.
The accident has brought this year’s road toll to 145.
