VNL: Monash Uni Central battles down to wire

MONASH University Central was fighting for second spot and a double chance in the Victorian Netball League finals last night.

Central needed to beat Geelong Cougars in Geelong to move ahead of Peninsula Waves and take second spot. The VNL finals begin on July 18 with a major semi-final between minor premiers City West Falcons and whoever finishes in second place.

The third place finisher will play VU Western Lightning in an elimination minor semi-final.

The loser of the major semi-final and the winner of the minor semi-final will play in the preliminary final on July 25.

The major semi-final winner will play the preliminary final winner in the VNL grand final on August 4 at 8pm. All finals will be at the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Parkville.
