Man robs four shops in Waverley area overnight

A MAN who robbed a Mount Waverley store twice last night and threatened staff is thought to have been involved in another two robberies in Malvern East and Glen Waverley the same night.

Police were called to a 7-Eleven on the corner of Huntingdale Road and Waverley Road in Mount Waverley at about 5.30pm yesterday to investigate a report that a man had threatened staff with a screwdriver and stole cash before fleeing.

Police said they believe the same man, armed with a screwdriver, held up a store about 1am today on the corner of Waverley Road and Batesford Road in Malvern East.

He returned to the Mount Waverley 7-Eleven at about 1.15am and robbed the store again before holding up another store on Blackburn Road in Glen Waverley.

Police said that in all four robberies the man threatened staff with a screwdriver and cash was stolen.

He is described as in his 30s, bald, slim build, and about 175-180cm. He was wearing a black top and dark pants.
