A taxi driver has suffered pelvis and possible leg fractures after his car hit a pole on the Monash Freeway.
Paramedics treated a man in his 40s after they were called to the Eastlink interchange at Dandenong North about 3.20am on Friday.
Ambulance Victoria spokesman Paul Bentley said the man had hit a pole and "ended up down a ditch", injuring himself. No one else was in the car.
He was taken to The Alfred hospital in a stable condition.
