POLICE have charged a Mount Waverley teenager with raping a woman in a toilet in Glen Waverley last Monday morning.
The 16-year-old, who handed himself in to police last Thursday, faces charges of rape, stalking and false imprisonment over an incident that began about 2.20am last Monday morning.
Police said a 24-year-old woman was using the toilets in an entertainment complex on Springvale Road when she heard someone follow her and enter the next cubicle. When she opened the door to leave, the teen allegedly forced his way into her cubicle and locked the door.
‘‘He start[ed] covering my mouth and trying to take my clothes off,’’ she told police.
She told officers the boy fled when her friend came to see if she was OK.
The woman said she had not left her home since the assault.
Police later released security camera footage of a man who had been in the area at the time.
