A 15-year-old Chadstone boy appeared in a children's court last week on four charges related to the alleged stabbing of a fellow teen.
He was charged with intentionally causing serious injury, intentionally causing injury, assault with a weapon and possessing a controlled weapon following an incident at Ashwood College about 8.40am Friday.
Police were called to the school where the victim, also a 15-year-old male, had received slashes to his upper body.
The victim was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital. Counselling services were made available to students and support was offered to the victim's family.
Ashwood College principal Kerrie Croft reassured parents that the incident was an isolated one. "We've never had an incident like this before," she said. "This is a great school and it's very community-based and we always have had a safe school."
