FORMER AFL player Aaron Lord will play with VAFA club Oakleigh this season.
Lord, who played 150 games with Hawthorn and Geelong, has joined the Krushers as a playing assistant coach after wanting to join coach Martin Stillman at the club.
Lord told Krushers media he was excited to join the club.
‘‘I am looking forward to working with Stilly and the other coaches at the Krushers to help develop the youth on the club’s list,’’ he said.
‘‘I've know Stilly for over 20 years and when I met with him I was extremely impressed with the enthusiasm and passion each displayed for the club and the vision for the Krushers moving forward.’’Stillman said Lord would add talent and experience to his side.
‘‘It's great to have Aaron at the club,’’ he said.
‘‘I've know Aaron for over 20 years and he is a quality person and will be terrific for the footy club both on and off the field.
‘‘I’m looking forward to Aaron’s input and he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our young playing group.’’
Lord is the first former AFL player to join the Krushers.
