A $1.8 million redevelopment of Glen Waverley station’s forecourt announced today will improve access and amenities according to Transport Minister Terry Mulder.
The state railway land owner VicTrack will seek community feedback on the proposed redesign, which includes a new station forecourt and public seating, a new kiosk and better access for disabled passengers.
About 12,000 people use Glen Waverley station each day, according to the state government.
Mr Mulder said the work would be finished later this year, in time for the nearby $70 million IKON commercial and residential development on Kingsway.
Construction of IKON began in June 2012.
Mr Mulder said that VicTrack would appoint a builder after consulting with Monash City Council, Public Transport Victoria and Metro Trains.
