Monash Uni slips up in wet conditions

MONASH University lost to Cerberus 24-7 in a game played in difficult wet conditions on Saturday.

The difference between the two sides proved to be intercept tries. Cerberus pressured the Monash backs into throwing poor passes. With two such passes resulting in tries under the posts to Cerberus, Monash literally threw the game away.

Monash had the better of the play throughout the day but was unable to put points on the board. Christian Everson, Marvin Ward and Percy Chiu were among the best players.

The two sides were playing for the President's Cup for the first time. The trophy, donated by the Glen Waverley branch of Bank of Queensland, will belong to Cerberus until next time the two sides meet.
