THE Australian Grand Prix has come and gone for another year, and now all our attention is on our trip across the Tasman to Hamilton in mid-April.
I did well over there around the street circuit last year, so the expectations at Centaur Racing are high.
Thankfully, even though we had a few near misses, the car came away from Albert Park straight, which meant the crew actually got to enjoy some time off over Easter. Just being able to get away for a few days can make a big difference.
It was good to catch up with the fans at the Grand prix.
I enjoyed a visit from students from my former primary school in Mooroolbark, while former North Melbourne champions Glenn Archer and Adam Simpson dropped by to say hello to the team.
We have a hectic schedule coming up after New Zealand with trips to Queensland, Winton in Victoria, Darwin and Townsville, all before a mid-year break in late July.
Sad news of late with all the deaths on Victorian roads and I can only hope that everyone takes care on the roads during the school holiday period.
Slow down, concentrate behind the wheel and arrive at your destination alive.
I'm starting a driver safety program in local schools shortly, but more on that next week.
