SOUTH Oakleigh Bowling Club completed an all too rare double last week when both the second and fourth division teams were promoted after the RVBA section finals.
On Saturday, the top side dismissed Pakenham at South Oakleigh to win the right to take on Ferntree Gully at Burwood on Sunday.
They then dispatched Gully to not only take out the section, but also win a shot at the divisional finals this week and gain promotion to first division next season.
The second side rolled Clayton at home in a tense semi-final that gained them promotion and a game against Carrum in the big one. Sadly, they couldn't conjure a win on the Sunday.
The club is looking for new players in the hope of starting up a third side. If anyone is interested in Joining South Oakleigh for pennant bowls, they can ring the club on 95703924 or go to the website at www.sobc.org.au.
