HOME-grown and top overseas golfers were battling for the right to wear the Australian Masters gold jacket at Huntingdale golf course yesterday.
On Saturday, two-time winner Robert Allenby, formerly of Chadstone, was the front-runner but was overtaken by Swede Daniel Chopra and Australians Kurt Barnes, Rod Pampling and former Croydon golfer Aaron Baddeley.
At the start of yesterday, Chopra led the tournament on 12 under, closely followed by Barnes and Baddeley on 11 under.
Pampling, Allenby and Stuart Appleby were still chances to clinch the title. The field included 2005 US Open champion Michael Campbell.
The event concluded yesterday.
