VAFA: Oakleigh youngsters breeze through

19 Jul, 2010 01:00 AM
WITH the seniors having the bye, Oakleigh under-18 and -19 Victorian Amateur Football Association teams took centre stage on Saturday.

The under-18s, playing at home, opened proceedings with the match of the round against the undefeated top side, Rupertswood. Despite having to kick into the breeze, the Oaks drew first blood and were never headed as they pulled away to win by 90 points, 20.18(138) to 7.6(48).

Aaron Cloke and Rodney Jetta kicked 11 goals between them and Paul Raso and Steve Scott kicked three goals each.

The under-19s showed why they are top of the ladder with a win over Beaumaris, 19.10(124) to 9.10(64).

The Krushers outclassed the Sharks led by Paul Tsoucalas with four goals and Adam Mathiesson and Tim Scott with three each.
