OAKLEIGH'S Victorian Amateur Football Association finals hopes suffered a major setback when a rampaging Old Carey thrashed the Krushers by 21 goals on Saturday.
The undermanned Krushers were no match for their opposition in the cold, wet conditions and lost 5.7(37) to 26.13(169).
Chris Meyers worked hard for the Krushers, booting two goals, and Mick Harold, Baden Wass, and Kieren Hogan battled hard against superior odds.
The reserves didn't fare much better, booting their first goal halfway through the second term as Old Carey ran away with the game.
An improved second half by Oakleigh brought some respectability to the score, but the final margin was still 14
goals.
The thirds took on Bentleigh but fell short by 19 points and the under-19s defeated Peninsula by 11 goals.
The under-18s defeated Old Camberwell by 40 points and had a fight on their hands before emerging victorious.
