OAKLEIGH overcame a spirited second half by Whitefriars to win by 57 points on Saturday.
A five goals to one opening quarter set the Krushers on their way and although the visitors fought back. Oakleigh had all the answers and took a six-goal lead into the main break.
Whitefriars hit back in the third quarter with their marking strength forcing the Krushers to rally, and they led by six goals at three-quarter time.
Oakleigh upped the ante and and ran away in the final term to win. 19.115 (129) to 11.6 (72).
Trevor Bromley led the way for Oakleigh with seven goals in a best-on-ground performance and he was ably supported by Keiran Hogan and Josh McGarry.
The reserves match was a more even affair with the visitors giving the undefeated ladder leaders the fright of their lives. Oakleigh's slow start looked like bringing them undone until a seven-goal second term put them back on track.
After an even third quarter, the Krushers did all the attacking but inaccuracy cost them a bigger win than the 21-point margin.
Nathan Wills led the goalkicking with six while and Dion Lucas booted three goals. Rob Holden along with Matt Bennett and Peter Brown were among Oakleigh's best.
The under 19s returned to the field against Collegians and put up a gallant fight before injury reduced them to 16 men and the home side ran over the top of them to win by 143 points.
Josh Paola led the goalkicking with four while Valentini and Doherty were among the best.
Club 18 travelled to Old Camberwell, and after giving away a seven-goal start, found the going too tough and couldn't bridge the gap, succumbing by 13 goals.
Paul Malcolm was again one of Oakleigh's best.
