Monash thumps Cerberus to reclaim Cup

28 Jul, 2008 12:10 PM
MONASH University defeated Cerberus 26-10 to record its first win of the VRU lightning competition on Saturday.

The club reclaimed the President's Cup after losing to Cerberus earlier in the year. Monash started strongly, and tries to Justin Van Niekerk, captain Sam Inglis and coach Dave Bradbury gave it a 19-0 lead at the break.

Cerberus fought back in the second half, scoring two tries, while Inglis scored his second for the victors.

Next week, Monash has a bye.
