EASTERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE

MULGRAVE suffered its first defeat of the season after losing to Montrose by two points in a thriller on Saturday. The Lions were beaten in the contested possession most of the afternoon and lost 13.9 (87) to 13.11 (89) with Allan Cleven, Jake Beard and Rhett Wilsmore among their best players.

The reserves made the most of their scoring opportunities to hold out a relentless Montrose to win 12.11 (83) to 6.8(44). David Roose, Dale Remington and Scott Mills were the Lions' best. The colts had a hard-fought win over Montrose, 12.10 (82) to 10.10 (70), and were led by Nick Ahearn, Sean Lester, Adam Jefferson and Luke Parker.
