CLAYTON suffered its worst defeat in recent history, being thumped by 177 points by St Kilda City on Saturday.
The Clays trailed by a goal at quarter-time but the floodgates opened in the second term with the Saints booting 10 unanswered goals to lead by 73 points at half-time.
The Saints ran riot in the second half, kicking 19 goals to Clayton's two, and had 44 scoring shots to the Clays' seven.
In a percentage-boosting win, St Kilda smashed Clayton 32.12(204) to 4.3(27). The Saints were led by Mark Tasiyan with six goals, and boom recruit Ezra Pyas kicked four. They were two of their nine goal kickers.
Oakleigh District came from behind at three-quarter time to overrun Murrumbeena by 13 points in division 2.
The District trailed by three points at half-time and seven points at three-quarter time but rallied in the final term, booting six goals to three to win 11.11(77) to 9.10(64).
Jarrod Lanton kicked three goals while Dan Kiellerup and Arnold Morris were best for Oakleigh.
Mt Waverley lost to Skye by three points in a division 3 thriller.
Skye jumped the Mountain Lions, kicking five goals in the opening term and led by 20 points at half-time. Both teams failed to kick a goal in the final term and despite Mt Waverley having two more scoring shots, it fell short, losing 6.11 (47) to 5.14(44). Cameron Kirkup and Jarrod Wilkin booted two goals each for Mt Waverley.
