THE Cavaliers strengthened their claim for premiership honours with a blistering attack on competition leaders Trinity on Saturday.
Overcoming a disastrous start losing three wickets without a run on the board, the Cavaliers' Nav Gunegoda (154) and Calvin Brown (109) turned the game around to help post a mammoth 9-393.
Trinity's batsmen will have to provide something spectacular next week if their team is to maintain its unbeaten record.
The top six teams in the Menzies Shield are involved in a vital round of games which will see the winners consolidate their claims for finals appearances.
Notting Hill Brandon Park has already gained first innings points against Chadstone Harlequin while the clash between Mt Waverley Uniting and Mt Waverley Catholics is evenly poised.
