OAKLEIGH bowled itself into a winning position against Endeavour Hills on Saturday.

The Oaks rolled the opposition for 107 led by Barry Ensil (3-8), Michael Splatt (3-9) and Ben Pinwill (3-37).

In reply, Oakleigh reached 5-107 and is poised to press home the advantage this week.

The second XI scored 9-256 against Endeavour Hills with Matthew Naughtin (35), Dean Taylor (56), and Brendan Rose (46) getting the Oaks off to a great start.

The loss of three quick wickets after tea set Oakleigh back but Luke Ludowyke, with a quick-fire 45 (off 54 balls), ensured that Endeavour Hills would be chasing a large total.

The thirds batted first in their game against Endeavour Hills and declared at 9-224. Ben Forbes (41), Marc King (44), Kobi Wallis(37), Aaron Khan (23no) and Masi Akbari (21) were the main scorers.

A feature of this innings was the seventh wicket partnership of 86 runs between King and Wallis. Endeavour Hills was 0-6 at stumps.

The fourths blasted the opposition for 105, with Trent Shields returning the excellent figures of 6-27, while Daryl Mendes picked up 3-37. Oakleigh reached 5-97 at stumps.
