Affiliated future in balance

27 Apr, 2009 12:00 AM
THE fate of Hawthorn-Monash University Cricket Club's affiliation will be decided at a special meeting tonight.

The university's sports body, Monash Sport, has undertaken a review of its memorandum of understanding with the club and given it a new set of affiliation requirements for the 2009-10 season, which members will vote on tonight.

A notice sent to members said Monash Sport's future partnership requirements would affect future cricket operations of the club.

Members will also vote on whether to change the club's name to Hawthorn East Melbourne Cricket Club.

A number of reports will be presented at tonight's meeting, including on the club's financial position, facilities and affiliation issues.
