Flu can't halt the classic

08 Jun, 2009 10:57 AM
A SMALL number of associations pulled teams out of the long weekend's National Junior Classic because of swine flu fears, but the competition at the Dandenong Basketball Stadium was still branded a success.

The three-day tournament, regarded as Australia's premier junior club event, , attracted the best male and female players from under 12 to under 18 to the Stud Road stadium, including those from Waverley.

Dandenong Basketball Association general manager Graeme Allen confirmed a "minimal number" of interstate teams had pulled out.
