02 Feb, 2012 01:49 PM
Police are appealing for anyone who saw two men hold up a supermarket in Macrina Street in Oakleigh East yesterday afternoon to come forward.

Police said the men entered the supermarket at about 3.30, and that one of the men approached the counter with a firearm and demanded cash from staff before fleeing with the money.

The pair were last seen heading along Ferntree Gully Road. The men have been described to police as Caucasian and being in their late teens or early 20s.

One of the men was wearing a blue T-shirt with a white T-shirt covering his face. The other man was wearing shorts and also had a T-shirt over his face.

Any information about the robbery can be phoned to Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.
