MELBOURNE women are going to great lengths to look good for the Spring Racing Carnival, according to new data released by the Yellow Pages.
Last year's figures show searches for spray tans on yellowpages.com.au rose 43per cent during the spring months to 7299 searches in October, compared with a monthly average of 4585.
These findings are backed up by Australian specialist waxing and tanning chain Brazilian Butterfly, which recorded a 106per cent jump in customers requesting spray tans during September and October last year.
Yellow Pages also found it is a busy time for hair removal and lingerie sales, with both spiking in the spring months.
