FAMILY and friends paid tribute to Narre Warren resident Melissa I'Anson in Glen Waverley on Friday, saying she would make a "beautiful angel".
Miss I'Anson, the daughter of police officer Sergeant Janeane I'Anson, died in a car accident on July 10 at the intersection of Hallam and Ormond roads in Hampton Park.
Her death came less than two weeks after four young people died in a two-car smash at the same intersection.
Melissa was farewelled at a funeral service at the Victoria Police Academy in Glen Waverley on Friday. She would have celebrated her 21st birthday next month.
Speaking through friend Leigh Turner, Sergeant I'Anson said she and her daughter formed the "ultimate girl power" team, be it shopping, going to a restaurant or an overseas adventure to Disneyland.
Sergeant I'Anson told of Melissa's many talents, saying she had tried her hand at dancing, jazz ballet, Girl Guides and modelling.
She recalled when Melissa was three and wanted a horse for her birthday. Sergeant I'Anson said there was no space for a horse. Come her fourth birthday, Melissa asked for a paddock so there would be space for the horse she wanted.
Sergeant I'Anson said her memories of Melissa would live on forever.
"I'm so proud, honey. I'm forever blessed for having you in my life. You will never have any idea the impact you had on me."
Melissa's sisters, Marcelle, Jess, Lauren, Sarah and Emily, as well as friends Cara and Jenna, also paid their tributes, saying her smile and laugh would be missed.
They spoke of how Miss I'Anson would make a "beautiful angel" and although she may be gone, she would never be forgotten.
