TEEN singing sensation Bethany Fisher will kick off the school holidays in style with a series of concerts at the Oakleigh-Carnegie RSL.
The talented 16yearold will perform on the last day of term 2 on Friday at 3pm. She will also host shows at 11am and 2pm on June 30 and July 7.
Bethany will sing popular songs by Hannah Montana, the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. There will also be a chance for the audience to sing along and join in a dance lesson.
The budding singer performed at Monash Council's Oakleigh Community Festival in March and the Mulgrave Fun Day in April. She's also had parts in television shows such as The Hollowmen, Neighbours, Blue Heelers and in the 2003 Australian movie Bad Eggs.
Since the Journal spoke to Bethany last month, she has appeared at the Chestnut Festival in Kalorama and Monash Council's citizenship ceremony.
Bethany, who recently finished mid-year exams, said juggling her school work and stage life was a matter of keeping her priorities in check. "I'll most likely be doing a lot of homework these holidays as well.
"It's all about balancing my time wisely."
Bethany hopes to take her singing to an international audience but said she still enjoyed performing locally.
"The vibe you get from people is different and I love performing around home. I'm really looking forward to meeting people after the show."
Bethany's shows are at the Oakleigh-Carnegie RSL, 95-97 Drummond Street, Oakleigh. The cost is $10. Details: 0402353509 or www.bethanyfisher.com
