Sleuths raid Ashwood home

30 Jan, 2012 12:00 AM
DETECTIVES from the Monash crime investigation unit searched an Ashwood home on Wednesday week and seized stolen goods valued at more than $20,000.

Detective Sergeant Phil McCabe said the search unearthed about 20 GPS units, five television sets, five bicycles, four sets of golf clubs and several computers.

"We also recovered a vehicle that has been returned to the owners," he said.

"We're going through the process of locating the owners, which we believe we'll be able to do for most of the property."

Police believe the property was stolen from cars and homes.

Sergeant McCabe would not say whether the owner of the house was home when they arrived.

'We haven't interviewed him in relation to these matters yet."

Police made the search after receiving information from the public.

"If the public have information then we suggest that they call Crime Stoppers," Sergeant McCabe said.
