STAGE two of Glendal Primary School's upgrade was officially opened last week.
The $1.2million works were funded by the Federal Government under the capital grants program ($680,000), the State Government ($438,987) and the school community ($84,000).
The capital works included seven new classrooms, a library, art and craft centre, music room and upgrades to the administration wing.
Glendal principal Deborah Grossek said the "state-of-the-art" buildings would allow children's learning to be extended and increase educational resources for teachers.
"The facilities now match our high standard of teaching."
Part of the funding also went towards a parent drop-in centre, called Mi Cafe, where
parents can meet teachers, update themselves on school events or simply read the daily newspapers.
Mt Waverley MP and Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development Maxine Morand said pupils could take advantage of more classroom space and a stimulating environment that encouraged them to explore new concepts and push the boundaries of their own learning.
Federal Chisholm MP Anna Burke said the
"outstanding facilities will help ensure all students at Glendal Primary School are encouraged to realise their full potential and attain their goals".
