FACTORY ALERT
FACTORY managements have been warned by police to securely store copper after two men were charged with conspiracy of theft at Wilson's Transformers site, Springvale Road, this month. The pair from Dandenong and Noble Park were also charged with unlawfully being on the premises on November 11.
Detective Senior Constable Brigette De Chirico said copper was targeted by a number of different people, not just one group of offenders.
"As the price of copper goes up, just as when the price of petrol goes up, people try to steal them."
