POLICE last week were searching for a cyclist believed to be responsible for more than 90 assaults on children across the south-eastern suburbs since 2003.
Detectives said they suspected the man was behind assaults on two girls aged 8 and 11 in Mt Waverley last year and recent attacks in Gunther Avenue, Springvale.

On Saturday police interviewed a Bonbeach man, 56, over the incidents and others dating back to 2003. He was remanded in custody until tomorrow on seven charges, including rape, sexual penetration of a child under 16, indecent act with a child under 16, and indecent act in the presence of a child under 16. He is expected to face further charges.
