WITH the start of the new school year, separated parents have been asked to put aside their differences for the sake of their children.
Director of parent support Toni Brown from the Department of Human Services is encouraging parents to plan for the year so their children can adjust.
"Practical parenting arrangements can include organising school drop-off and pick-up times, extracurricular activities, school holidays as well as those special days such as birthdays, Mother's Day and Father's Day," she said.
"Many children worry about what will happen to them when their parents split up, and it can be a big relief to them if the arrangements are clear and predictable."
