SHADOW treasurer and Scoresby MP Kim Wells has accused the State Government of economic mismanagement ahead of next week's Victorian budget release.
Mr Wells said the Government had "wasted 10 years of opportunity".
"The concern for us is that they've been the government for 10 years [and] have received record taxes. [But] we don't have infrastructure and quality services, which adds up to mismanagement by the Brumby Government."
He called on the Government to invest in infrastructure projects and bring relief to people, such as pensioners, who are calling for help to stop increased water bills.
"The problem we have is that it's wasted 10 years of exceptionally good economic times, and now all Victorians are going to pay for the mismanagement."
Eastern Metropolitan MP Brian Tee dismissed Mr Wells' claims.
"Kim Wells lives in Baillieu-land where money grows on trees and pigs fly."
Mr Tee said he hoped the Government would continue to invest in key areas.
"I urge the Government to continue to invest in health, education and transport and, in these uncertain times, to emphasise jobs.
"I urge the Liberal Party to let us know when they are back on planet earth."
