Brigade markets fire tips

25 Jan, 2010 09:48 AM

MULGRAVE Farmers Market will host free community awareness activities each month starting with a fire safety session this Sunday.

Fire Safety for the Home, presented by the Metropolitan Fire Brigade's community education department, is an interactive education activity for children aged six and above.

Youngsters will be able to walk through a mock fire truck called "Smokebuster" and learn what to do in case of a fire.

Mulgrave Farmers Market manager Sue Brown said the community awareness activities would be held on the last week of each month.

"Being able to provide important community messages throughout the year such as fire safety, water safety and healthy living is an additional community service we are delighted to be able to provide to complement our community market."

Mulgrave Farmers Market is open from 8am-1pm on Sundays at The Body Shop headquarters at the corner of Jacksons and Wellington roads, Mulgrave. Details: www.mulgravefarmersmarket.com.au< p>
