THE latest bus to roll out of Dandenong bus company Grendas is not just pretty in pink.
The pink bus has been designed for Make Breast Cancer History month and sports a glitzy pink exterior and custom-made pink seat covers.
The bus hit the streets on September 29 and acted as a shuttle on the night of the Make Breast Cancer History gala event last Saturday week. It is available for charter by the public this month.
Each time the pink bus is chartered during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), Grendas will donate 10per cent of the proceeds to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Breast Cancer Network Australia.
Managing director Scott Grenda said Grendas jumped at the chance to support breast-cancer awareness. "Breast cancer has or will touch most of us in some way or another.
"When Grendas was approached to sponsor this event, we felt we had a unique opportunity not only to support but to highlight the gala evening in an eye-catching way."
The pink signage for the 57-seat passenger bus was designed free of charge by Davidson Branding and Dandenong's Sign-A-Rama did the printing and installation at a heavily discounted rate.
All funds raised at the ball - still to be tallied - and during the month will be donated to the network and the foundation.
