POPULAR indie popsters Angelas Dish and funky hip-hop act Fast Crew are coming to Noble Park and Dandenong as part of a national tour.
The two groups will be at Noble Park Secondary College on July 15 and Dandenong High on July 17 as part of the Boost Mobile Rock the Schools national tour.
It not only aims to give students an education in music, but also an insight into the inner workings of the music business.
The program consists of a series of educational workshops on different aspects of the music industry, run by education partner, College of Creative Arts and Technology and a live performance from one of six bands.
The tour provides students with a new appreciation of the mechanics of putting on a live rock show and opens their eyes to the possibilities of how they could use their skills in the music industry.
In the band workshop, students have the chance to have a question-and-answer session with a band to ask them about their music and what it's like to be in the music business.
New South Wales rockers Angelas Dish are making big noises with their new album War On Time. Angelas Dish count The Killers and Jimmy Eat World among their influences.
In their live shows they are described as a "finely tuned, well-oiled, rock machine, with punchy pop songs and down to earth lyrics''.
Auckland-based rap collective Fast Crew have three Top 40 ARIA singles under their belt. They have a unique hip-hop groove with a full live band.
Their innovative rhymes and soulful melodies combine to form something universally appealing that is unparalleled on the Australian scene.
