SALLY HEATH AND RICHARD ARNOTTLADY JANET CLARKE ROTUNDA, QUEEN VICTORIA GARDENS AND ASCOT HOUSE RECEPTIONS, ASCOT VALE, VICThe meeting“We met at a pub in Brunswick almost six years ago,” says Sally. She was on a night out with her girlfriends and saw a striking man sitting at a table. Richard saw a pair of legs. After seeing him sitting there Sally made sure she and her friends went in for a drink. “We exchanged numbers and realised we only lived 500 metres apart,” says Sally. Richard cooked breakfast for her the next morning and they haven’t looked back. The proposal“Richard is really the romantic,” says Sally. They went for their first trip away (besides trips to visit Sally’s family in Queensland) to Adelaide. They walked the city, picnicked, stayed at a fancy hotel and went for dinner at the Magill Estate restaurant. “I was not expecting it, even though as we walked in I thought this would be a really fantastic place for him to propose,” she says. During the dinner he got down on one knee and asked if she would marry him. “When he asked me, I was so shocked stunned and excited (as well as a little in awe of the diamonds) that all I could say was "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god"...He had to ask me again,” she says. The wedding day“It was a really relaxing, stylish, fun filled day,” says Sally. They chose to share it with 64 of their closest friends and family. The ceremony was held in the Lady Janet Clarke Rotunda in the Queen Victoria Gardens and then they went on to Ascot House Reception to celebrate. “We love neutral colours, which is why we chose green and I love Australian native flowers as I spend lots of time in the country,” she says. The dressSally wore an ivory strapless, A-line, taffeta gown. It featured a chapel length train and a ruched bodice with two crystal brocades. It came from L’Amour Bridal Boutique in Blackburn South. The cakeThey had an orange and almond meal cake with traditional fondant icing. It was made by Kim Russell from Kymmy Cakes in Bendigo. The photographyThe photos were taken by Lizzy C Photography.
